AVENUE OF THE VOLCANOES TOUR.The Avenue of Volcanoes is as it sounds, follow part of the avenue, by taking the South road of Quito. This journey takes in some spectacular scenery, weaving through lush, fertile valleys, protected wildlife areas and offering incredible views of the mountains and volcanoes along the route. Day 2.- After breakfast you will start the visit to the old Spanish Colonial City of Quito including, Independence Square, Cathedral, Presidential Palace, Church of La Compañia and the Monastery of San Francisco. Continue to the Panecillo´s hill, it is 183 meters above the city and offers a fine view of the city below and of surrounding volcanoes and mountains. The hill is a major landmark in Quito, crowned by an impressive statue of the Virgin of Quito. Lunch included in a local restaurant. Overnight at Patio Andaluz. ( dinner not included)
Day 3.- After breakfast you will start your drive to la Mitad del Mundo to visit Inti-Ñan Museum, where you have the opportunity to partake in experiments relating to the equator. Continuing your trip to Mindo Cloud Forest and check – in to Septimo Paraiso for overnight stay on half board basis.
Day 4.- Opportunity of early morning bird watching to see the Cock of the rock´s noisy early morning ritual. After breakfast you will have time for your private guided walk on the trails of Septimo Reserve looking at flora and fauna of the area, especially the diverse birdlife that the local area is famous to preserve. After lunch you will have your private transfer to Imbabura Region, on the road you will visit Calderon and Cayambe towns, and Kitsato middle of the world monument before you arrive to Hacienda Cusin to relax and spend your night.
Day 5.- After breakfast you will go to visit the colorful Otavalo Indian market with its textile, embroidery and handicrafts stalls. Cotacachi leather town and a visit to the village of Peguche one of the main weaving village of the local area. Lunch in a local restaurant of the area. In the afternoon you will have your private transfer to Papallacta region or you can choose to visit the ecological reserve of the Antisana. Overnight at Hosteria la Cienega. (dinner not included ).

| Cotopaxi National Park |
Day 6.- After breakfast visit the Cotopaxi National Park to view snowcapped Cotopaxi volcano 5,897m above sea level, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world and Ecuador’s second-highest peak. The tour includes a drive through the surrounding parkland with its paramo vegetation, wonderful views birds and flowers to Limpiopungo, a large Andean lagoon at about 3,800 m above sea level.
Time to enjoy the landscape view and back to Hosteria La Cienega for overnight.

Day 7.- After breakfast you will drive to the Tungurahua region, visiting on route the Sangay National Park before your arrival to Baños town in order to observe the active Tungurahua volcano. Overnight at Hotel – spa Luna Runtun. (dinner not included )
Day 8.- Breakfast included and day at leisure to have your own time of relaxing and enjoy of the peaceful, friendship and landscape of the local people and area.
Overnight at Hotel-Spa Luna Runtun. (lunch and dinner not included)
Day 9.- After breakfast – private transfer to Cuenca visiting on route the Balbanera church and Ingapirca arqueological site, the most important Inca site in Ecuador . Where you will have time to eat your packed lunch. Overnight at Hotel Santa Lucia. (Dinner not included)
Day 10.- Early breakfast. City tour of Cuenca, visiting the Cathedral, colonial buildings, cobbled streets, colourful markets and a local museum. Afternoon visit to the famous Homero Ortega Panama Hat factory for a guided tour and demonstration as to how these hats are made. Overnight at Hotel Santa Lucia.
Day 11.- After breakfast you will star your trip to Guayaquil visiting on route the Cajas National Park, famous for its many beautiful lakes and birdlife. Arriving to the city
in the afternoon. If you have enough time you can star a short and informative city tour of Guayaquil to see the modern changes of a metropolitan city. Overnight at Hotel Hampton INN.
Day 12.- Assistance at Guayaquil airport for international flight to go back home or you can have your flight to return to Quito to continue a Galapagos or Rain forest extension.
